Koach is live in the App Store: announcement and an honest first impression
It's official: Koach has been approved by Apple and is live in the App Store. Under the name Koach Volleyball you can now simply download the app onto your iPhone. In this piece you'll read exactly what went live, what the app does and an honest first impression, no sugar-coating.
What is now live
In the App Store, Koach is called Koach Volleyball, with the tagline "Coach your team, not your paperwork." The app sits in the Sports category and is free to download. Inside the app you can later choose a subscription (Coach or Club), but to get started and look around you need nothing but your email address. Koach was built by a real volleyball coach, Dennis Boekhout, so the app grew out of practice courtside rather than behind a drawing board.

What the app does: an honest mini-review
Koach is not a generic team app with a volleyball coat of paint, but genuinely built for the sport. Here's what's inside:
- Lineups and rotations: set up your lineup and the app advances the rotations with you. No fiddling with arrows on paper.
- Live scoring point by point: you track the match down to the point, with statistics per player. Afterwards you know not just the result but who made the difference.
- 200+ ready-made drills: a drill library you can draw from straight away, plus room for your own drills.
- Attendance and playing time: tick off who's there in seconds, and track who plays how much. Handy for the fair-playing-time conversation in youth teams.
- Planning practices and matches: your whole season calendar in one place, with recurring practices and notifications for your team.
- Team communication: announcements, polls and tasks, so the never-ending group-chat chaos calms down a bit.
- Player development across seasons: making growth visible per player, exactly what you need for end-of-season conversations.
The app is available in six languages, and players can get their own account. They then fill in their own profile and see their own statistics, which really helps engagement.
Honestly: what you should know
The download is free. You try everything free for 14 days, without payment details; after that you choose Coach (€2.99 per month, 1 team and 2 coaches) or Club (€9.99 per month, unlimited teams and coaches). And good news for both camps: the iOS version is live, and by now the Android version is live in Google Play too — so Koach runs on iPhone and Android with the same account. If you'd rather not install an app, Koach also works in the browser, on exactly the same account.
How to get started
New to Koach? Download the app and then run through getting started in ten minutes: account, team, players and your first practice. Want to set the app up fully for use in the gym, read Koach on iPhone. And if you're unsure about the cost, what Koach costs explains exactly what's free and when a subscription makes sense.
You only really judge an app on your own match day. Download Koach Volleyball in the App Store, set up your team on a quiet evening and run your first match through it on Saturday.
