Sharing drills between coaches
Your assistant's best drill lives in their head, and your favourites in yours. Teams with multiple coaches quietly lose their best material this way — unless the library belongs to everyone.
Why shared drills are more than convenience
If every coach runs their own repertoire, the team gets a different training language every night: different names for the same drill, different scoring, different emphases. One shared library ensures that "Pass-and-attack over 3 metres" means exactly the same on Tuesday as on Thursday — and that the week's build-up connects instead of duplicating.
How it works in Koach
Every coach on the team adds drills to the same library; every drill shows who created it. With the coach filter you see only Dennis's or Mark's drills in one tap — handy when you know that one drill was 'his'. New colleague on the staff? They have the complete repertoire from day one, including descriptions — provided they are written the way the editor asks.
Make it a habit
Agree on two things as a staff: every new drill goes into the library that same week, and every month you briefly discuss one or two ("is yours still running? what did you change?"). That keeps the collection alive instead of turning it into an archive. Not yet working together in one team account? Read working with multiple coaches first.
The library belongs to the team. If a coach leaves, their drills simply stay — with their name attached. That is exactly the difference with the notebook that walks out the door.
Frequently asked questions
Can one coach edit another coach's drill?
Talk first — the creator had a reason for that scoring. Want your own spin? Create a variant with your own name on it; that keeps both versions usable.
How do we prevent duplicate drills in the library?
Search by keyword before creating, and agree on a naming convention ('skill — keyword'). Find a duplicate anyway? Merge them and keep the best description.
Does this also work with a guest coach or intern?
Yes — invite them to the team and their drills enter the library under their name. After they leave, the material stays available to the team.
