The last point falls, there is cheering or groaning — and somewhere in that minute sits one tap that settles your admin for good: finish match. After that, the report is done while the shoes are still coming off.
What happens when you finish the match
The Finish match button below the live screen closes the tracking and locks everything in: the result, the set scores, and per player the points broken down by attack, block and serve, plus the errors. From that moment the match is part of your season: it counts in the match overview, in the player profiles and in all season statistics.
The locker-room debrief
The greatest gift of finishing right away is timing: you discuss the match while everyone can still feel it. Keep it short and concrete — the full story comes later. What works: one team compliment based on the numbers ("28 points forced ourselves in set three"), one standout individual performance, and one thing to pick up on Tuesday. Save the deeper analysis for the real debrief.
Finishing also means: freezing mistakes
After finishing, the record is locked — that is a feature, not a limitation. Statistics that can be fiddled with afterwards lose their authority in the group ("he added that assist later"). So double-check the final score before finishing, then close it out for good. One moment of care, a season of trustworthy numbers.
Finish the abandoned or messy match too. A match without a finish keeps floating administratively and pollutes your overviews. Incomplete tracking? Finish it and note it down — an honest gap beats a floating match.

Do my players see the report too?
Players see their own performance in their profile as soon as the match is finished. That is deliberate: the report is not a secret coach's file but shared reality.
