Pitchero alternative for volleyball: club site or coaching app?
The short answer
Pitchero is a club platform with a website, online payments and team management. Free costs nothing for one team, and Standard is £38 (€44) per month as of October 2026. If you coach volleyball and want rotations, the libero and live scoring per player, Koach is the alternative or the add-on: 14 days free, then €2.99 per month.
You are looking for a Pitchero alternative for your volleyball team, maybe because Teamer pointed you to Pitchero or because your club is weighing it up. Below you will find what Pitchero does and costs, what a volleyball coach will not find in it, and when Koach fits alongside it or instead of it.
What is Pitchero, and what is it good at?
Pitchero is a sports club platform from England. According to pitchero.com, checked in October 2026, it combines a club website and a club app with member registration, online payments, team management, news and fundraising. It is built for the whole club: much of the toolkit is aimed at the volunteers who keep the club running, and coaches get team management on top. Here is what is in it:
- Club website and app. A hosted website, with your own domain and club email addresses on the paid plans, plus the free Pitchero Club app for members, parents and supporters.
- Members and payments. Online registration with your own forms, a member database you can import and export, and payments for membership fees, match fees, tickets and donations, with an overview of who has already paid.
- Team management. Coaches see who is available, pick their squad, send messages and track attendance at training. According to the App Store you can also post live scores and match moments in the app, so the whole club can follow the game.
- Leagues and content. Fixtures, results and tables from connected leagues come in automatically, and you publish match reports, photos and videos on the site, in the app and on social media.
- Lottery and sponsors. A digital club lottery for UK clubs, licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, and space for sponsor logos.
Volleyball is not in Pitchero's sports menu; that lists football, rugby union, rugby league, cricket, hockey, netball and basketball. The App Store adds that the app also supports other team sports, and in its FAQ about the Teamer shutdown Teamer also recommends Pitchero for sports outside that list. Teamer belongs to the same group and shut down on 5 October 2026; Teamer users were offered a discount to move to Pitchero. What that shutdown means for your team and how to switch is covered in the Teamer alternative. This page is about Pitchero itself.
How much does Pitchero cost?
Pitchero has three plans. The amounts below are from Pitchero's pricing page in pounds, checked in October 2026, with the euro prices from the same page in brackets; the page also shows them in dollars and other currencies.
| Plan | Price | Teams | Online payments |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | £0 | 1 | No |
| Standard | £38 per month or £418 per year (€44 or €484) | Up to 20 | Yes |
| Pro | £99 per month or £1,089 per year (€115 or €1,265) | Unlimited | Yes |
Paying yearly costs eleven times the monthly price. The Free plan carries third-party ads and cannot take payments; Standard has limited ads and Pro has none. Your own domain and club email addresses (10 on Standard, 50 on Pro) come only with the paid plans. You can try each paid plan free for thirty days without payment details; after that the subscription renews automatically, and you can cancel at any time.
On top of the plan, every online payment carries a transaction fee. According to the pricing page that is from 2.42% plus 17p on Standard and from 1.67% plus 15p on Pro; unlike the plan prices, those fees are listed in pounds only. More than twenty teams on Standard costs £2.50 per extra team per month. So for one team Pitchero costs nothing, as long as you can live with the ads and the lack of online payments.
What a volleyball coach will not find in Pitchero
Pitchero is built for the whole club and for every team sport at once. On the site, on the team management page and in the App Store we found nothing about the things only volleyball has:
- A lineup with rotations. Pitchero sets up a squad and a line-up, but mentions no system such as the 5-1, 4-2 or 6-2, and nothing about how six players rotate.
- The libero. When the libero comes in and goes out, and the rule that the libero may not play in the front row or serve, never comes up.
- Rally-by-rally scoring. In Pitchero you post live scores and match moments in the app. Recording every point with how it was won (attack, block or serve) and keeping the serving order alongside it is not mentioned.
- Volleyball stats. Per player you log appearances and match stats, and per team goals, results and form. Points from attack, block and serve, serve receive or side-out per rotation are not there.
- The training itself. You schedule sessions and track attendance; a training plan or a drill library is not mentioned.
- Languages other than English. The App Store lists English only for the Pitchero Club app. That is fine for a British club, less so for a team where parents or players would rather read Spanish, German, Italian or Polish.
For a club that mainly wants a website and payments, none of that is a loss. For the coach on the sideline on match day, it is exactly the part they want an app for. What to look for in that kind of app is in the checklist for the best volleyball app for coaches.

Try Koach with your volleyball teamKoach as a Pitchero alternative for your volleyball team
We make Koach, so read this as the view of an interested party. Koach is an app for volleyball coaches, on iPhone, iPad, Android and in the browser, in six languages. It covers much of the team management you also find in Pitchero, plus the volleyball part that Pitchero lacks.
Team, schedule and attendance
You add your roster and use Invite players to send each player their own link. Training sessions and matches sit in one schedule, and players or parents reply to each one with I'm coming or Can't make it, or tap Sign up for all sessions once to sign up for every session. Under Announcements you post an announcement, a poll or a task. Players and parents use Koach for free. Why that belongs in the same app as your lineup is explained in the volleyball team app.
Lineup and rotations
In the lineup view you choose a 5-1, 4-2 or 6-2, tap your six players into place and assign the setter and the libero. View all 6 rotations shows in advance how your team rotates, and on match day Swap libero automatically brings the libero in for the middle blocker in the back row without you lifting a finger.
Live scoring per player
With Start match you score point by point. For every point you pick the player under Who scored the point? and then how: attack, block, serve or an opponent error. The serving order runs along with it, and the app counts substitutions and timeouts per set. Afterwards you see, among other things, points by type, the error breakdown and side-out per rotation. How that works from the sideline is in tracking a volleyball match live.
One thing Pitchero does here and Koach does not: in Pitchero you post live scores and match moments in the club app, where parents and supporters follow the game too. In Koach only the coaches, and a player you give permission to keep score, follow the match live. After the final whistle you use Share match report to send an image to your team's group chat.

Pitchero or Koach: which fits your club?
- Pitchero suits a club with several teams or sports that wants its own website, lets members register online and collects membership and match fees online. With a lottery for UK clubs, transaction fees in sterling and a link to Play-Cricket from the England and Wales Cricket Board, it is clearly built around the United Kingdom.
- Pitchero Free suits a single team that wants a website and a schedule with availability without paying, and does not mind ads.
- Koach suits a volleyball coach who, besides the schedule and attendance, wants to keep track of the lineup, the match and how their players develop.
It does not have to be one or the other. If your club keeps its website and membership fees in Pitchero, you coach your volleyball team in Koach. On the Club plan the club dashboard has the card Add Koach to your club website: a ready-made snippet with an explanation for players and parents and the download buttons, which you take over with Copy text or Copy HTML for the club website or send to whoever runs it. Which kind of app is strong at what is shown in the overview of sports team apps for volleyball.
What Koach does not do
- No website. Koach does not build a club site; at most you put that snippet on your existing site.
- No payments. Koach does not collect membership fees or handle money. On the Club plan you track who owes what under Contributions, with your own payment link attached.
- No chat. You do get announcements, polls, tasks and push notifications in the iPhone and Android app.
- No member import. You type players in or they join through their invite; importing a member list is not possible.
- Indoor volleyball only. If your club also runs football or hockey, Koach only covers the volleyball teams.
What does Koach cost alongside or instead of Pitchero?
You can try Koach free for 14 days with one team, with every feature and no credit card. After that you choose Coach for €2.99 per month (one team, two coaches) or Club for €9.99 per month (unlimited teams and coaches, with the club dashboard). With a yearly plan you pay €2.49 or €8.33 per month. Players and parents pay nothing. In the App Store and on Google Play you see the price in your own currency. The amounts are on the pricing page, what Club sets up for a club is on the page for clubs, and what else to look out for is in what Koach costs. Next to Pitchero Free you only pay for Koach; next to Standard or Pro, Koach comes on top.
Test it on one match. Let the club keep Pitchero for the website and the membership fees, and score one match in Koach. Afterwards you see each player's points from attack, block and serve. Then you know whether you want that next to the club website.

Frequently asked questions
Is Pitchero free?
Partly. Pitchero has a Free plan at £0 for one team, with a website, the club app and team management, but with third-party ads and no online payments. Standard costs £38 (€44) per month for up to twenty teams and Pro £99 (€115) per month for unlimited teams; you can try each paid plan free for thirty days. Does Pitchero work for volleyball?
Volleyball is not on Pitchero's list of sports, which names football, rugby, cricket, hockey, netball and basketball. According to the App Store the app also works for other team sports, and Teamer, part of the same company, recommends Pitchero for other sports too. So you can use availability, squad selection, messages and payments for volleyball as well. What is specific to volleyball, such as rotations, the libero and rally-by-rally scoring with the serving order, is not mentioned on the site or in the App Store (checked in October 2026).
What is the difference between Pitchero and Koach?
Pitchero is made for the whole club: a website, member registration, online payments and team management for any sport. Koach is made for the volleyball coach: schedule, attendance and announcements, plus a lineup with rotations and libero, live scoring per player and player development across the season. Koach has no website, no payments and no chat; Pitchero mentions no volleyball lineup or stats by point type.
Can I use Pitchero and Koach together?
Yes. You run the club website, members and payments in Pitchero and coach your volleyball team in Koach. Players and parents use Koach for free. On the Club plan the club dashboard has the card Add Koach to your club website, with text or HTML that explains the app and shows download buttons for players and parents. You put that on the club website or send it to whoever runs it.
How much does Koach cost as a Pitchero alternative?
