Teamer app closing down: where to move your volleyball team
The short answer
The Teamer app closed down on 5 October 2026: teams and data can no longer be accessed, and there was never an export. Teamer pointed users to Pitchero; Spond and Heja cover schedules and availability. If you coach volleyball, rebuild your team in Koach with one link per player, plus lineups and live scoring.
With the Teamer app closing down on 5 October 2026, your team needs a new home while the season carries on. Below you will find what Teamer said about the shutdown, which apps you can switch to and what each one is genuinely good at, and how to move a volleyball team across quickly, even without an export.
The Teamer app closing down: what it means for your team
According to the Teamer Shutdown FAQs, checked in October 2026, Monday 5 October 2026 was Teamer's closing date. Every user was emailed about it on Wednesday 5 August 2026. The company behind Teamer is now focusing on its Pitchero and PitcheroGPS platforms. For you as a coach, it comes down to four things:
- After the closing date, you can't get back in. Teams and user data have been inaccessible since then, and that includes your member list and your events.
- There was no export. Teamer itself stated that there is no tool to move a team's events and member lists to another system. Until the shutdown, you could only view your team data, in the app or in a browser.
- Premium subscriptions were stopped in September 2026, so nobody was still paying in October.
- Teamer offered a move to Pitchero, with its own discount code via a form. How big that discount is was not stated.
So you are not looking for an app with an import button, because there is nothing to import from Teamer. You need an app that gets your team up and running again fast, and that fits what you actually used Teamer for.
What should a Teamer app alternative do for a volleyball team?
Teamer was an app for every sport. According to Teamer's App Store page, checked in October 2026, you used it to run your team, invite players, track attendance, collect payments online and send messages. A volleyball team needs more than that, and a multi-sport app doesn't know about those extras. Look for six things in a replacement:
- Setting your team up again fast. With no export, your squad has to go in again from scratch. It helps a lot if players link themselves through an invite link.
- Schedule and availability. Practices and matches in one schedule, and for every event you see who is coming and who isn't.
- Team messages. An announcement or a poll that reaches everyone, including the parents of youth players.
- Payments, if you used them. If you collected membership fees or match fees through Teamer, the new app needs to handle that too, or you sort it out somewhere else.
- The sport itself. A lineup with rotations and the libero, and on match day the score, the serving order and who is scoring.
- Language and devices. Teamer's App Store listing named English only. If some players or parents would rather use another language, check which languages the new app offers, and make sure it runs on both iPhone and Android.

Move your team to KoachPitchero, Spond, Heja or Koach: the options side by side
We make Koach, so read this as a comparison by an interested party; for every app we say what it does well. Everything about the other apps comes from their own website or store page, checked in October 2026.
Pitchero: the route Teamer offered
Pitchero combines a club website, online membership fees, match fees and donations with automatic reminders, and a club app where you see each player's availability and confirm your team selection. Announcements, reminders and updates go out to all members in one go. You track attendance, scorers and appearances per team. According to Pitchero's pricing page, the Free plan costs nothing for a club with one team, with ads and without online payments; those come with the paid Standard and Pro plans. A strong choice if your club wants its own website and wants to collect money online.
One caveat for volleyball, though. Teamer wrote that Pitchero supports most team sports out of the box, naming football, rugby union, rugby league, cricket, hockey, netball and basketball; Pitchero itself lists the same sports. Volleyball isn't on that list, although Teamer also recommended Pitchero for sports outside it. Pitchero doesn't mention rotations or point-by-point live scoring. What else Pitchero does and what it costs is covered in the Pitchero alternative for volleyball.
Spond: free and broad
Spond is free in the App Store and available in 24 languages. You set up recurring events for the whole season in one go, see who is coming because replies are tracked automatically, communicate through group chats, messages and polls, and collect fees and payments. You import members from Excel or add them via a link, email or text message. For a match you set a starting lineup and track the goals. That covers almost everything you did in Teamer. The description doesn't mention rotations, the libero or points per player. Torn between Spond and another big team app? Read Spond vs TeamSnap.
Heja: communication with players and parents
Heja schedules games and practices with automatic reminders to parents and players, tracks availability and sends messages to one team member, a group or the whole team. Parents also use it to arrange rides. Heja is free for everyone on the team; Heja Pro adds attendance stats and payment tracking, among other things. The App Store lists English only. A lineup or live score isn't in the description.
Koach: if you coach volleyball
Koach is built for volleyball only. Schedule, attendance and announcements are all in there, and on top of that the lineup with rotations and the libero, live scoring per player and how your players develop over the season. Koach doesn't process payments and has no chat.
Checked in October 2026 on each app's own website and store pages; the sources are listed at the bottom.

Which Teamer replacement suits your team?
- Pitchero suits a club that wants its own website, collects membership and match fees online and mainly plays sports Pitchero names itself, such as football or hockey.
- Spond suits a team or club that doesn't want to pay anything and wants chat and payments in one app.
- Heja suits a youth team where keeping the parents in the loop matters most.
- Koach suits a volleyball coach who wants more than a schedule and attendance: the lineup, the match and how each player develops.
It doesn't have to be just one of the four. You can run the club in Pitchero or Spond and coach the team in Koach. The overview of sports team apps for volleyball shows which type of app is strong at what, and the checklist for the best volleyball app for coaches helps you choose for your own team.
How to move your volleyball team to Koach
Whichever app you choose, the order is the same: create a new team, invite your players, set up the schedule. In Koach it works like this:
- Start with the names. When you sign up, Koach asks for your name, your team's name and your players' names. Shirt numbers and positions can wait. There is no import, but then you don't have a file from Teamer anyway.
- Invite everyone in one message. On the Team tab, tap Invite players, select the whole squad with Everyone and tap Create … links; the button shows how many players you have selected. You get one message with a personal link after each name, which you post in your team group chat with Share. Each link belongs to one name, works once and is valid for 30 days. Players then fill in their own contact and emergency details. You add the parents of youth players with Invite a parent. The full walkthrough is in inviting players with a link.
- Set up the schedule. With Schedule recurring trainings you put your practices on a fixed day into the schedule in one go. You add matches as home or away, with their type. Under Sync calendar you will find a link that players and parents can subscribe to in their phone calendar.
- Let everyone respond. Players and parents tap I'm coming or Can't make it for each practice or match, with a reason if they like, or sign up for everything at once with Sign up for all sessions.
- Send your first announcement. Under Announcements you choose between an announcement, a poll and a task, which someone takes on by tapping I’ll do it. In the iPhone and Android app it arrives as a push notification; in the browser it doesn't.
How to plan a switch like this mid-season, without your team stuck between two systems for weeks, is covered in switching to another team app mid-season.
On match day: where a multi-sport app stops
A multi-sport app gets you as far as who is coming on Saturday, and at best a starting lineup. After that you are standing in the gym with a scrap of paper. In Koach you set up your lineup beforehand in a 5-1, 4-2 or 6-2, assign your setter and libero, and see how your team rotates with View all 6 rotations. With Start match you score point by point: for every point your team wins, you pick the player under Who scored the point? and then how the point was won. The serving order follows along, and after the match the points and errors per player are ready.
Why it helps to have availability and coaching in the same app is explained in the volleyball team app.
What you won't find in Koach
- Payments. Koach doesn't collect fees and doesn't handle money. With the Club plan you track who owes what under Contributions, with your own payment link; the payment itself happens outside Koach.
- Chat. There are announcements, polls and tasks, but no chat or private messages. So keep your group chat.
- A club website. Koach doesn't build one.
- Other sports. Koach is for indoor volleyball only. If your whole multi-sport club was on Teamer, a multi-sport app is a better fit for the club.
- An import of your player list. You type in the names, or players come in through their invite. If you keep your members in an Excel sheet, Spond can import that.
What does Koach cost after Teamer?
You can try Koach free for 14 days with one team, with every feature and no credit card. After that you choose Coach for €2.99 per month (one team, two coaches) or Club for €9.99 per month (unlimited teams and coaches, with the club module). On a yearly plan you pay €2.49 or €8.33 per month. Players and parents pay nothing. The prices are on the pricing page; in the App Store and on Google Play you see the price in your own currency. Koach runs on iPhone, iPad, Android and in the browser, in six languages, including English.
Make the invite message your kick-off. Add one line above it in the group chat: from now on, practices and matches are in Koach. Anyone who hasn't used their link yet stands out in your player list with a highlighted label after their name; after a few days, send them a quick personal message.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Teamer app closing down?
Yes. According to Teamer's FAQ, Monday 5 October 2026 was the closing date. Users were told by email on Wednesday 5 August 2026. Until then the core features for members, events and payments kept working, but new downloads, new sign-ups and new teams had already been switched off before the shutdown. Since the shutdown, teams and user data can no longer be accessed. Premium subscriptions were stopped in September 2026.
Can I still get my data out of Teamer?
No. Since 5 October 2026 teams and user data can no longer be accessed, and even before that there was no export: Teamer itself stated that there is no tool to move a team's events and member lists to another system. Koach doesn't import anything either: you type in your players' names and send everyone their own invite link. Players then fill in their contact and emergency details themselves.
What is replacing the Teamer app?
Teamer pointed its users to Pitchero, with a dedicated discount code via a form. Pitchero combines a club website, online payments and a club app that shows player availability. Volleyball isn't in the list of sports Pitchero and Teamer name, although Teamer also recommended Pitchero for other sports. Other options are Spond and Heja for schedules, availability and messages, and Koach if you coach a volleyball team and also want lineups and live scoring.
Is there a free alternative to Teamer?
Spond is free in the App Store, with chat and payments. Heja is free for everyone on the team, with the paid Heja Pro for extra features. Pitchero has a Free plan for a club with one team, with ads and without online payments. You can try Koach free for 14 days with no credit card; after that Coach costs €2.99 per month for one team and two coaches, or €2.49 per month on a yearly plan. Players and parents pay nothing.
Can I collect fees in Koach like I did in Teamer?
No. Koach doesn't process payments and doesn't collect membership or match fees. With the Club plan you track who owes what under Contributions and add your own payment link; the payment itself happens outside Koach. If you mainly used Teamer to collect money, Pitchero or Spond is a better fit for that. You can also use one of those alongside Koach, with Koach for the coaching.
