SportEasy alternative for volleyball: general versus volleyball-smart
SportEasy is a popular team app for dozens of sports: calendar, attendance, messages, lineups and player stats. That breadth is its strength, and also the reason to look at an alternative: an app built for every sport is rarely built around volleyball rotations. Here is how to make the call.
Checked in September 2026 on sporteasy.net and in the US App Store. We make Koach, so read this as a comparison written by the maker of one of the two apps.
Where SportEasy is strong
SportEasy does broad team management well: calendar, invitations and attendance, messaging, roster profiles, task assignment and fee collection, on the web and in its iPhone and Android apps. It also has lineups ("a dozen different lineups and tactics", in its own words) and player stats. On its volleyball page SportEasy lists points, attacks, blocks, aces and efficiency per player, and with Premium you can record Live Stats during the game. The US App Store lists seven interface languages.
Price: Basic is free for up to 30 members with limited team management features. Premium costs €9.99 a month, or €69 a year when you pay yearly, and new teams can try Premium free for a month.
Where it stops for volleyball
SportEasy's lineups and stats are built to work across many sports. On the volleyball pages we checked, we found no rotation tracking, no libero swaps and no 5-1, 4-2 or 6-2 systems. For organising that makes no difference. On match day it does: you want the app to know who is in which rotation, who serves next and where the libero is. See rotation order for why that matters.

The trade-off
Running several sports in one club, collecting fees, or mainly after planning and communication? Then a broad app like SportEasy makes sense. Want one app that knows volleyball, from the lineup with rotations to live stats per player? Then Koach is the better fit. It is free for 14 days without a credit card; the plans are on the pricing page. All options side by side: the best volleyball apps for coaches.
Ask yourself what you do most often. If that is communicating and planning, a broad app will do. If that is coaching, meaning setting lineups, scoring and developing players, you want volleyball-smart.
Frequently asked questions
Is Koach a full replacement for SportEasy?
For coaching a volleyball team, largely yes: calendar, attendance and announcements are in there, plus lineups with rotations and live stats. Koach has no team chat and does not collect fees (the Club plan only tracks contributions), so a multi-sport club that relies on those may prefer to keep SportEasy.
Does SportEasy have volleyball stats?
Yes. Its volleyball page lists points, attacks, blocks, aces and efficiency per player, and Live Stats during the game are part of Premium. What we did not find listed is rotation tracking or libero swaps.
Can I switch without losing my schedule?
You set up your calendar and roster again, which is an evening's work. See the article on switching team apps mid-season for a safe route.
