Volleyball lineup app: 5-1, 4-2 and 6-2 rotations, subs and libero on your phone
Koach is a volleyball lineup app for coaches. You set up your 5-1, 4-2 or 6-2 on a court on your phone and view all six rotations before the match. During the match the app rotates with every side-out, keeps count of your substitutions and swaps the libero for you. What the lineup app does
- Build your lineup in 5-1, 4-2 or 6-2. Tap players onto positions 1 to 6 and mark your setter and libero. The app uses those roles to rotate correctly.
- View all six rotations. One tap shows every rotation of the lineup, so you see before the match where your front row is thin. The rotation check points out your weakest rotation.
- Save and reuse lineups. Keep your usual starting six and load it for the next match, as explained in saving and reusing a lineup.
- Live rotation tracking. On match day the live screen takes over your lineup, shows the serve order and rotates on every side-out.
- Substitution tracker. Tap a player to sub someone in. The app counts substitutions per set and stops you at six.
- Libero swaps. With "Libero auto swap" switched on (under Sub), the libero comes in for a back-row player and goes out again before that spot reaches the front row or the service line.
Set up your lineup in three steps
- Add your roster. Names, jersey numbers and positions, or send players an invite link so they fill in their own profile.
- Build the lineup. On the Team tab, choose Lineups, pick 5-1, 4-2 or 6-2 under Formation, tap players onto the court and mark the setter and libero under Roles. Check all six rotations and save the lineup.
- Play the match. Start the match and score the rallies. The app rotates, logs your subs and handles the libero, so the lineup on screen always matches the court.
Why a lineup app beats the clipboard
A lineup card is right until the first timeout. After a substitution or a long serving run, counting rotations in your head is where overlaps and rotation faults start. A lineup app that knows the rotation order keeps the court state for you. Check your rulebook once. Koach stops at six substitutions per set and takes the libero out before they would serve. Does the lineup app work on iPad?
Yes. The App Store app itself runs full screen on the iPad: one app and one account, so you log in and your team is right there. There is no separate iPad app and no second purchase. On Android the app also works on a tablet. The browser keeps working alongside it, at koachvolleyball.com/app with the same account, but you no longer need it.
Can I run a 6-2?
Yes. When you build a lineup you choose 5-1, 4-2 or 6-2, then mark your setters and libero. The app uses those roles for the six rotations and for rotating during the match.
Does it track substitutions and the libero?
Yes. You enter a substitution by tapping a player on the live screen; the app counts subs per set and stops at six. With automatic libero swaps on, the libero replaces a back-row player and goes out before that spot rotates to the front row or to serve. Check your own league's rules for subs and the libero during the free trial.
Can I use it for a whole club or several teams?
Yes. Each team gets its own lineups. The Coach plan covers one team with two coaches; the Club plan covers unlimited teams and coaches.
