Following the serving turn during the rally
Nine out of ten counting errors in the gym start with the same question: "who was serving again?" The serving turn is small administrative stuff — until it gets lost and a whole point is up for debate.
How the serving turn changes
The rule is simple: if the serving team wins the rally, the same player serves again. If the receiving team wins, the serve passes over — and that team first rotates one position, after which the new position-1 player serves. Confusion almost always arises after interruptions: a time-out, a substitution, a discussion with the scorer.
The indicator that thinks along
In Koach's live screen, above the score, sits a serve indicator: We serve or the opponent's name. Serving runs as a tactical signal
Whoever follows the turn also sees the runs: three, four, five points in a row on the same server. That is the moment to act — a time-out to break their rhythm, or noting who on your side produces those runs. Serving runs are the cheapest scoring streaks in volleyball; the serving statistics show you afterwards who delivered them.
Time-out at three in a row. Volleyball's oldest rule of thumb exists because it works: you do not stop a server in rhythm by defending harder, but with a pause. The serve indicator plus the scoring run tell you exactly when.

What happens if the wrong player serves?
That is a rotation fault: point and serve to the opponent as soon as it is established. Guarding the correct serving order is not a formality — it is point protection.
After a set change, does the same team serve as at the end of the previous set?
No — the teams alternate first serve per set according to the toss. The app sets the indicator correctly at the start of every new set automatically.
How do I see afterwards which server was on a roll?
Through the point types: aces are listed per player in the statistics. For insight into runs, look at the score progression of the set — long runs of your own stand out immediately.
