Rotation check: run through your six rotations before the match

Every starting lineup is really six lineups — and most coaches only judge one of them. The rotation check runs through all six for you: who serves, who is in the front row and how much attacking power stands there. So you see where your lineup creaks befóre the first serve, instead of halfway through set one.

What does the rotation check do?

In the match setup, right where you choose your starting lineup, you will find the ↻ Rotation check button. One tap and Koach runs through the six rotations that follow from your starting lineup — in exactly the rotation order the match will follow. Per rotation you see three things: who serves, who is in the front and back row, and an attacking-power bar showing how much offensive firepower you have up front in that position.

The insights it produces

Below the six rotations, the check states the conclusions you would otherwise have had to puzzle out yourself:

Based on your season, not on assumptions

The attacking power per player does not come from a gut estimate but from your own season statistics: the points your players actually scored this season during live scoring. That makes the check fairer than your gut — which mostly remembers the last match — and it sharpens itself: the more matches you score, the more accurate the bars become. Early in the season the check is indicative; from a handful of matches onwards it is a serious second opinion.

How to use it in your preparation

Set up your intended lineup and run the check. Don't like what you see — best server too late, weak rotation too early — then rotate your starting lineup one position and check again. The same six players, a substantially different match: that is the cheapest tactical gain there is. Compare two or three starting variants and choose with reasons, instead of out of habit.

Check your start for set two as well. The opponent adjusts their block and serve to what they saw in set one. Rotating one position costs you nothing — the rotation check tells you in ten seconds whether the new start brings your strong positions around more often.

Frequently asked questions

Does the rotation check work if I have scored only a few matches?

Yes, but treat it as indicative: the attacking power is based on your players' season statistics, and those become more reliable as you live-score more matches. From a handful of scored matches onwards the check gives a serious picture.

Does the rotation check pick the best starting lineup for me?

No, deliberately not. The check shows what each rotation delivers — server, front row, attacking power — and flags notable weaknesses, but the trade-off remains yours: sometimes you accept a weak rotation because your passers or your block are exactly where you want them.

What does the attacking-power bar mean exactly?

The bar summarises how much offensive firepower is in the front row in that rotation, calculated from the points your front-row players scored this season. A short bar is not a verdict but a signal: in that position you are most vulnerable offensively.
