Bar duty roster for your whole club: one tap, a year sorted
Ask any club who puts together the bar duty roster and you'll get a sigh in reply. Lists, swap requests, and always the same people turning up. Koach now takes that job off your hands: one button in the club dashboard plans the bar duties for every home match of all your teams, a year ahead — shared out fairly and by the rules.
A bar duty roster at the tap of a button
The club dashboard has a button called Generate bar duties for a year. It creates one bar duty with two slots for every upcoming home match of all your club teams — twelve months ahead. Planning bar duties is now a job for the club: only the club account or an assigned club manager can do this, not coaches. That keeps the bar duty roster in one place, with one owner.
Shared fairly, and by the rules
The generator assigns people from the other teams — the team that's playing is on court and therefore exempt. A few fixed rules apply:
- 16+ on the duty date: only players who are 16 or older on the day of the duty count. Under-16s aren't allowed to run a bar duty (the Dutch NIX18 alcohol rules).
- Parents for youth players: for players under 16, their linked parents are scheduled instead. That way a youth team takes its turn in the roster like any other.
- Whoever has the fewest duties goes first — and nobody gets two duties on the same day.
New matches added later? Simply run the generator again: it's safe and only tops up the newly scheduled matches. Existing duties stay untouched.
Everyone sees their duty in the calendar
Every duty appears in the calendar of the members assigned to it. Tap it to see the list of names; on open slots you can sign up or off yourself. The duty is also included automatically in the shared calendar feed (iCal), and the team gets a push notification as soon as a new duty is planned. Nobody can claim they didn't know.
Adding a single duty by hand works too
Alongside the year generator you can always plan one separate duty: pick a team, date, time and the number of people (1 to 20). Handy for the club tournament, the volunteers' evening or that one weekend when the canteen needs extra hands.
Tip: fill in your youth players' dates of birth. Without a date of birth a player counts as 16+ and can be scheduled themselves — with one, their linked parents are scheduled automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Who can plan bar duties in Koach?
Only the club: the club account itself or an assigned club manager. Coaches can't plan bar duties — that keeps one roster with one owner.
How does Koach share out the bar duties?
For each home match, two people are scheduled from the other teams; the playing team is exempt. Whoever has the fewest duties goes first, nobody gets two duties on the same day, and only members who are 16+ on the duty date count — for younger players, their linked parents are scheduled instead.
Can I run the year generator again?
Yes, that's safe. The generator only adds bar duties for newly scheduled matches; existing duties and sign-ups stay untouched.
Can members sign themselves up for or off a bar duty?
Yes. Everyone sees their duty in the calendar, taps it for the list of names and can sign up or off on open slots.
